Who it is for

  • Foreign nationals already lawfully admitted to Ghana who have a job offer or contract with a company registered in Ghana
  • Employees whose sponsoring company is registered with the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre (GIPC) and is tax-compliant

Requirements

  • Certificate of Business Registration (Certificate of Incorporation, Certificate to Commence Business and Business Code)
  • GIPC Registration Certificate
  • Company's current tax clearance certificate
  • Company's audited accounts for the previous year
  • Medical report from the Ghana Immigration Clinic, Accra
  • Police report from the applicant's home country
  • Marriage certificate (if applicable)
  • Letter of support from the relevant Ministry, Department or Agency
  • Copy of the bio-data page of the employee's passport
  • Curriculum vitae / resume
  • Professional and educational certificates
  • Organisation's annual report
  • Photocopy of previous residence permit (if any)
  • Offer / appointment letter / contract of employment
  • Copy of non-citizen identification card

What you can do

  • Live in Ghana for the period specified in the permit
  • Work for the sponsoring employer named in the application
  • Travel in and out of Ghana during the validity of the residence permit without a fresh visa

How to apply

The sponsoring company submits an application letter addressed to the Comptroller-General of Immigration, together with the completed form and all supporting documents, and pays the applicable government fees at the appropriate immigration office.
