Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Republic of the Congo and Gabon travel visa-free within the CEMAC free-movement zone using a valid national ID card or biometric passport (in force since 17 October 2017).
All other travellers
e-Visa required before travel
Non-exempt nationals must obtain an electronic visa in advance through the official e-Visa portal; the traditional embassy submission was replaced by the online system from 1 July 2023.

Malabo (Malabo International Airport)
e-Visa holders are generally required to arrive via Malabo. Verify permitted ports of entry on the official portal.

Passport must be valid for at least six months and contain at least one empty page.

  • A valid passport (or, for CEMAC nationals, an accepted national identity card or biometric passport).
  • Confirmation that your specific nationality or passport type is currently exempt.
  • Compliance with any permitted stay limit attached to the exemption.

How to apply

  • No visa application is needed if you qualify; verify status before travel and present your passport on arrival.

Documents you may need

  • Passport valid for at least six months with a blank page.
  • Completed application (printed, with proof of payment).
  • Recent passport-size photograph on a white background.
  • Return or onward travel ticket and confirmed accommodation.
  • Invitation letter from the Government, a registered legal entity, or an Equatorial Guinean resident.
  • Proof of sufficient funds (a consular guideline of around USD 1,000 per month of stay has been cited for tourism — confirm the current figure).
  • For business travel, an employer letter stating the purpose of the trip.
  • Criminal-record / police clearance certificate (generally issued within the last three months).
  • International vaccination booklet (yellow fever vaccination is commonly required).

Frequently asked questions

  • No. Unless you are from a visa-exempt country, you must obtain a visa (normally the e-Visa) before you travel. There is no general visa-on-arrival for non-exempt nationals, and e-Visa holders are usually required to enter via Malabo.
