How to apply
- Apply through the relevant residence or citizenship application (permanent residence after five years, or citizenship by virtue of residence/marriage)
- Submit the marriage/birth certificates with the application to the Labour Division / Ministry of National Security and Legal Affairs

- Valid passport (at least six months' validity), with bio-data and validity pages
- Passport-sized photographs (two for residence; four for citizenship)
- Medical certificate confirming good health, no communicable disease in the past three years, including HIV test (and chest x-ray for the residence permit)
- Recent police record
- Character references / testimonials (two)
- Financial evidence - banker's statement or recommendation, or an employer letter; a letter from a friend or family member accepting responsibility if unemployed
- Cover letter / letter to the Minister requesting the permit or citizenship
- Copies of any work or residence permits held during the stay
- Treasury receipt as proof of fee payment; EC$20 adhesive stamps for citizenship forms and the oath
