Important
Whether you need a visa to enter Dominica depends on your nationality. Nationals of Commonwealth and CARICOM member states, the United States and several EU countries may enter visa-free for up to six months, while nationals of a further group of countries may stay up to three months. Anyone whose nationality is not on the exempt list needs a visitor's visa in advance; the government notes that nationals of Haiti and the Dominican Republic require a visa.
For longer stays, eligibility depends on the route: a work permit needs a job offer from a Dominican employer; a student visa needs acceptance onto a full-time course; permanent residence needs five years of residence or employment on the island; and citizenship by investment needs an approved investment plus due-diligence clearance.
