How to Apply for a Djibouti Visa
The two main paths — the online e-Visa for short tourism, business or transit trips, and embassy/consulate visas for work, study, family and any stay over 90 days.
Important
Djibouti runs a split system. For short visits (tourism, business/commerce or transit), most travellers apply online through the official e-Visa portal at evisa.gouv.dj, pay electronically and receive the approved e-Visa by email to print and carry with their passport.
For employment, study, family reunification or any stay longer than 90 days, you apply for a long-stay visa at a Djiboutian embassy or consulate before travelling. After arriving, foreigners staying more than three months must obtain a residence card, and those working must also hold a work authorisation.
