Who it is for

  • Long-term legal residents of Cyprus who meet the residence and integration requirements
  • Adults of good character seeking Cypriot (and thereby EU) citizenship

Requirements

  • Legal and continuous residence for the 12 months immediately before the application
  • At least 7 years of cumulative legal residence in the preceding 10 years (absences up to 90 days do not break continuity)
  • Good character
  • Greek language knowledge at B1 level
  • Knowledge of the basic elements of Cyprus's contemporary political and social reality
  • Suitable accommodation and stable, sufficient financial resources for the applicant and family

  • Acquire Cypriot citizenship and an EU passport
  • Live, work and vote in Cyprus without immigration restrictions

How to apply

  • Submit application form M127 with the required supporting documents
  • Provide evidence of residence, language, means, accommodation and character
  • Applications may also be lodged through Cyprus diplomatic missions in defined cases
