A visa on arrival is issued at the border while the traveller waits, provided documents are in order and the fee is paid. There is no advance processing for ordinary short visits.

Visa extensions are reported to require application to the local immigration office in advance of the current visa expiring — commonly cited as at least one week before expiry. Long-term visas and residence applications are handled case by case and can take longer.
