What foreign nationals must do to stay in Cameroon for more than three months.
Important
A visa gets you into Cameroon, but a longer stay requires in-country registration. Foreign nationals intending to remain for more than three months must obtain a residence permit (carte de séjour) from the DGSN, applied for during the validity of the entry visa.
The residence permit is the legal basis for living, working or studying long-term in Cameroon and must be renewed periodically. It is issued under Cameroon's immigration law (Decree No. 2007/255 of 4 September 2007) by the General Delegation for National Security.
