Requirements
- Proof of remote work for a foreign employer (e.g. employment contract on letterhead)
- Statement confirming the work can be performed remotely
- Proof of income of about US$1,500/month or about US$18,000 in savings
- Valid passport with a blank visa page
- Valid health insurance covering Brazil
What you can do
- Reside in Brazil while working remotely for a foreign employer
- Renew the residence for a further year at the Federal Police from within Brazil
How to apply
Apply at a Brazilian consulate (or, where available, request the residence permit through the immigration portal), providing the remote-work evidence, income proof and health insurance. Register with the Federal Police after arrival.
