Brazil visas

Brazil's visas are issued by the Ministério das Relações Exteriores (Ministry of Foreign Affairs). The main route for short visits is the Visitor Visa (VIVIS), which the Ministry describes as covering stays of up to 90 days for tourism, transit and business, with no residence intent and no paid work. The Ministry also states that, since 10 April 2025, nationals of Australia, Canada and the United States require a visitor visa and apply for an Electronic Visitor Visa (e-Visa) online. This hub explains the main routes in plain language and links to the official sources so you can confirm exactly what applies to you before you travel or apply.
