Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

A short-stay visa application generally requires a valid travel document, a completed and signed application form, a passport-size photograph, evidence of the purpose of travel (for example a tourism booking, or a certified letter of invitation for visits and business), proof of sufficient funds, travel/health insurance and proof of onward or return travel. Letters of invitation for visits or business are certified by the Ministry of Security - Service for Foreigners' Affairs.

Temporary residence applications add documents proving the ground of stay - such as a work permit and employment contract, a letter of enrolment for study, or a marriage/family certificate for family reunification - together with proof of adequate accommodation, health insurance, sufficient means of support and a clean criminal record.

Requirements vary by purpose and by the mission handling your case, so confirm the exact checklist on the official SFA document pages before applying.
