Vatican City visas

Vatican City is the world's smallest sovereign state and has no conventional visa system of its own. For ordinary visitors it is entered freely from Italian territory, so whether you need a visa depends on whether your nationality and purpose satisfy Italy's Schengen entry rules rather than any Vatican requirement. Residence inside the State, access to its non-public areas and Vatican citizenship are separate matters governed by Vatican City State's own Law on Citizenship, Residence and Access and administered by the Governorate of Vatican City State.
