Uzbekistan Visa Eligibility
How eligibility depends on nationality and purpose, and which route matches which situation.
Important
Eligibility for entering Uzbekistan depends on two things: your nationality and the purpose of your visit. Nationals of visa-free countries can enter for short tourism or private visits without a visa, while others must obtain an e-visa or a visa from a mission.
The purpose of the trip determines which route applies: tourism and short visits use the visa-free regime or a tourist e-visa; employment requires a work permit and employment visa; study requires an institution's invitation; and long-term stays lead to residence and eventually naturalisation.
Match your situation to a route
- Short tourism/visit: visa-free entry or tourist e-visa
- Passing through: transit (visa-free or transit e-visa)
- Employment: work visa with labour permit
- Study: student visa via an accredited institution
- Family visit: private/family visa
- Long-term: residence permit, then naturalisation
