Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

For short visits, many travellers can enter the UAE without arranging a visa in advance, either visa-free or with a visa on arrival. This page explains the entry options in plain language, drawing on the official UAE Government portal; always confirm your own eligibility with the official guidance.

Visa on arrival

Citizens of certain countries can obtain a visa on arrival at the border, with the UAE Government portal describing a stay of up to 90 days for eligible nationalities. No advance application is required for these travellers.

Transit visas

Travellers passing through the UAE can use a transit visa, available as a 48-hour and a 96-hour option, sponsored by UAE-based airlines and arranged before travel.

Which one applies to you

Whether you can enter visa-free, obtain a visa on arrival, or must arrange a visa in advance depends on your nationality. Check the official UAE Government portal before you travel.
