Visitors to Turkey must obtain a visa from one of the Turkish diplomatic missions in their country unless they come from one of the 91 countries and territories that are exempt from visa requirements or one of the 28 countries and territories whose citizens are eligible to apply for an electronic visa through the Turkish government website. There are no COVID-19 restrictions on travel from Ireland to Turkey. There is no necessity to produce immunisation or testing certifications for COVID-19.
If you test positive for COVID-19 in Turkey, you must isolate yourself for seven days. The isolation period finishes after seven days unless symptoms are present. On the fifth day, you may be tested, and if the result is negative, the isolation period ends. Wholly immunised close connections are not required to self-isolate.
Passengers are no longer required to wear masks on Turkish public transportation, including on Turkish-based airlines. Transit passengers are advised to review the destination country’s flight restrictions and PCR testing requirements.
A passport must be valid for at least six months from the date of arrival into Turkey. The usage of passport cards for travel to Turkey is prohibited. Please check your passport well in advance of your trip, as you may be denied entry otherwise. If you do not meet the admission requirements, the Embassy is unable to assist you.
