Who it is for

Requirements
- A valid passport and completed application form
- Proof of the relationship (e.g. unabridged birth certificate, adoption order, or marriage certificate)
- Proof that the relative in South Africa is a citizen or permanent resident
- Proof of financial assurance / support to the required prescribed amount
- Police clearance certificate(s) and a medical/radiological report as prescribed
What you can do
- Reside in South Africa with your immediate family member
- Apply separately for work or study authorisation where eligible, as the Relatives Visa alone does not grant these rights
How to apply
- Gather proof of kinship and of the sponsor's citizenship or permanent residence
- Arrange the required financial assurance
- Submit the application and supporting documents through VFS Global (in-country) or a South African mission abroad
