Solomon Islands is a maritime nation and has specific entry rules for people arriving by sea. Yacht masters and crew apply for a Yacht Person Visa, valid for 60 days and extendable to a maximum of 180 days, and should not attempt to enter through sea borders without proper documentation and approval.
People transiting on commercial vessels use the Transit Visa (Commercial Maritime Visa), granted for 7 days on arrival with a maximum stay of 14 days, extendable only where a substantive visa application is made. Both routes require vessel and agent or arrival details.
