Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

Whether you need a visa for Kiribati depends on your nationality and the purpose and length of your stay. Nationals of countries on the government's Exemption Order can enter visa-free for short visits; other nationalities must obtain a visa. The maximum stay for visitors is limited (the MFA states not more than 90 days in any 12-month period).

Anyone coming to work, study for more than three months, invest, or settle needs the relevant visa or permit regardless of nationality. Long-term residence and citizenship carry their own separate residence and character conditions.
