Ghanaian Work and Residence Permit (Immigrant Quota / GIPC / Shareholders / NGOs)

Who it is for

• Shareholders and expatriate staff of GIPC-registered companies coming in under an immigrant (automatic) quota
• Foreign nationals engaged by Ghana Free Zones Board (GFZB) enterprises
• Missionaries and staff of registered NGOs
• Investors establishing or working in a Ghana-registered business

Requirements

• Employer letter applying on behalf of the applicant
• Completed application form
• Certificate of Business Registration (Incorporation, Commencement and Business Code)
• Current company tax clearance certificate
• Previous year's audited accounts
• GIPC Registration Certificate (if applicable)
• NGO Registration Certificate (if applicable)
• GFZB licence with covering letter and completed GFZB form (if applicable)
• Medical report from the Ghana Immigration Clinic, Accra
• Police report from the home country
• Two recent passport photographs (taken within 6 months)
• Ministry of Interior approval letter
• Passport bio-data page copy
• Curriculum vitae / resume and professional and educational certificates
• Organisation's annual report
• Employment offer / appointment letter / contract
• Non-citizen identification card and the passport

What you can do

• Reside in Ghana in connection with the sponsoring investment, enterprise or organisation
• Work in the role for which the immigrant quota or approval was granted
• Enter and leave Ghana during the validity of the residence permit

How to apply

The sponsoring organisation submits the employer letter and completed application form to the Ghana Immigration Service with all supporting registration, tax and investment documents, and pays the applicable government fees at the appropriate immigration office.
