The Ministry of Immigration states that it takes 14 working days to process visa applications from the date of receipt. Applicants are advised to apply well ahead of travel — the Ministry suggests around three months before the planned date — to allow for processing and any requests for further information.

Permit applications (work, study, investor and residence) may take longer, particularly where police reports, medical reports or third-party approvals such as a Foreign Investment Certificate are required. Applicants receive email notifications through the IMMIHUB portal as their case progresses.
