Who it is for

Requirements

  • Bank or financial certification proving the guaranteed monthly income for the required period
  • Signed application with the applicant's details
  • Two recent passport-sized photographs
  • Legalised or apostilled birth and criminal-record certificates
  • Proof of payment of the government fee
  • Enrolment with the Costa Rican Social Security Fund (CCSS) on approval/renewal

What you can do

  • Live in Costa Rica supported by foreign income
  • Own a company and receive income from it (employment as an employee is generally not permitted)
  • Include dependants and renew while the income is maintained
