Requirements

  • Valid passport with adequate remaining validity
  • Pensioners: certification of a lifetime monthly pension of no less than 3 SMLMV, apostilled/legalised and translated
  • Rentiers: certification of periodic income of no less than 10 SMLMV per month from a recognised public or private entity
  • Criminal/police background certificate for the last 3 years of residence, apostilled/legalised and translated into Spanish
  • Supporting documents translated into Spanish where required

  • Reside in Colombia on the strength of pension or income
  • Accumulate time toward the Resident (R) visa
  • Note: this visa does not permit working in Colombia

How to apply

  • Create an account on the online visa platform at tramitesmre.cancilleria.gov.co
  • Complete the Migrant (M) - Pensioner/Rentier application form
  • Upload pension/income certification and background certificate
  • Pay the applicable study and issuance fees
