Who it is for

  • Skilled workers who have an eligible employer willing to sponsor and nominate them
  • Workers filling a position an approved sponsor cannot fill with an Australian worker
  • Family members of subclass 457/482 holders can apply as subsequent entrants

Requirements

  • Be nominated by an approved sponsor for an eligible occupation
  • Meet the skills, qualifications and work-experience requirements for the nominated stream
  • Meet minimum English language proficiency unless an exemption applies
  • Meet health, character and health-insurance requirements

What you can do

  • Live and work in Australia for the sponsoring employer in the nominated occupation
  • Bring eligible family members
  • Travel to and from Australia while the visa is valid

  • Your employer must be an approved sponsor and lodge a nomination
  • Apply online through ImmiAccount once nominated
  • Provide skills, English, identity, health and character evidence
