Wimbledon 2023 is scheduled for July 3 through July 16, 2023. Foreign travellers will require a visa to attend.
Important Travel Information
To travel to England and watch Wimbledon, most third-country nationals are required to apply for a UK Standard Visitor Visa to be granted valid entry upon arrival.
The minimum validity period is 6 months, allowing ample time to attend the Wimbledon event as well as allowing you to explore the rich culture and heritage of the United Kingdom, conduct business and academic affairs or receive private medical care if required.
The Wimbledon tennis tournament is the oldest and most prestigious tennis tournament held annually.
Since 1877, it has been held at the All England Club in Wimbledon, London, on outdoor grass courts.
The official name of this tournament is The Championships, Wimbledon. This tournament, which was first played in 1887, derives its name from where it was first played, The All England Club, located in the London suburb of Wimbledon. Since then, it has been performed in the exact location.
Wimbledon is one of four tennis Grand Slam tournaments, alongside the Australian Open, the French Open, and the United States Open. Wimbledon is the only major tournament that continues to be played on grass, the traditional tennis playing surface. In addition, it is the only Grand Slam with a night-time curfew, although matches can now continue under the lights until 11 p.m.
As of now, it is unknown whether Russian and Belarusian players will be permitted to compete at Wimbledon and other British tournaments in 2023.
In 2022, the Lawn Tennis Association prohibited Russian and Belarusian players from competing in British tournaments, which resulted in Wimbledon losing its ranking points.
The application period for The Championships 2023 Wimbledon Public Ballot is now closed.
If you have applied for the Wimbledon Public Ballot, you will be notified via email of your success beginning in early February 2023, along with details about your ticket offer and payment instructions.
Those who did not enter the Wimbledon Public Ballot or were unsuccessful in their application may still purchase tickets for The Championships 2023 through our official hospitality provider Keith Prowse or on the day through The Queue, including premium seats on Centre Court and No. 1 Court. Please see below for additional details.
The Queue will once again be available for day-of sales, and guests on-site will be able to utilise the ticket resale programme.
Ticket integrity will remain of the utmost importance, with only one pair of tickets per household available.

One of the leading causes of UK Visitor Visa denials is the provision of incorrect information during the visa application process and the submission of false or incorrect documents in support of the application.
If, after submitting your application but before the biometric appointment, you realise or it is discovered that you have provided inconsistent or incorrect information, depending on the severity, you can either cancel the application by logging and submitting a new application form or you can provide the correct information in a cover letter.
If you live in the UK, you can use the Public Ballot to try to get tickets to Wimbledon. People who live overseas can also apply for tickets, but they must use the Overseas Ballot.
