Senge Visa

Senge Visa

A senge visa (schengen visa) is a short-term travel document that allow travellers to visit any country in the Schengen Area for stays of up to 90 days for tourism or business purposes.

Visas for Europe are most commonly obtained using a senge visa (Schengen visa). An EU passport allows its holder to enter, travel freely within, and exit the Schengen area. Within the Schengen Area, there are no border checks at all. Third-country nationals are eligible to apply for the senge visa.

While a Schengen Visa is acceptable for a maximum of 90 days in a Schengen country, if you want to stay longer than that, you will need a national visa from that country. When applying you can still choose Schengen Visa.

Countries In The Senge Area

The Senge Zones Most Important Features

The removal of European country borders has resulted in:

  • When visiting the Senge Area, citizens of any country in the world are able to freely pass the internal borders of the member states.
  • External border crossing standards that are all the same
  • All state members have the same entry and short-stay visa criteria
  • Collaboration between member countries police forces has improved.

Members have access to privileged judicial collaboration, such as faster extradition of criminals and easier relocation for the implementation of criminal verdicts.

The SIS is a sophisticated shared database that allows member countries to easily exchange information about people and goods.

Despite the Senge Areas broad freedom, police have the right to conduct checks at internal borders and in border areas under limited circumstances, although this is not considered a border check. At internal borders, authorities can demand information regarding a persons stay in the Senge Zone as well as additional questioning.

A member country can temporarily restore border checks at its internal borders if it lacks complete internal security owing to a major threat, but only for 30 days.
