The L1 visa is a non-immigrant visa that allows foreign corporations to transfer staff to the United States under two different L1 visa schemes. The L1A visa allows leaders and managers, including business owners, to shift to a new or existing US office for up to seven years, while the L1B visa allows specialised knowledge employees to enter for up to five years.
An employee, including business owners, must have worked for a subsidiary, parent, affiliate, or branch office of a US corporation outside of the US for at least one year in the previous three years to qualify for an L1 visa.
A Visa is required for any foreign national wishing to enter the United States. It could be a non-immigrant visa for a short period of time or an immigrant visa for a long period of time. To enter the United States, Indians must get a non-immigrant visa.
