Who it is for

  • Spouses and dependent children of Indian citizens or foreigners of Indian origin
  • Foreign-born spouses/children of OCI cardholders (eligible for X-1 Visa)
  • Dependants of foreign nationals holding an Employment, Business, or other long-term visa

Requirements

  • Passport and photograph of the applicant
  • Copy of the principal visa holder's passport and visa
  • Marriage certificate (for spouses) or proof of the family relationship
  • Proof of residence (e.g. Form C from hotel/lodge or utility bills) where required

What you can do

  • Accompany or join the principal visa holder / Indian family member in India
  • Reside in India for the period the X Visa is granted

How to apply

  • Apply through the Indian Mission/Post abroad with the family relationship and principal-visa documents
  • Register with the jurisdictional FRRO/FRO after arrival where required
