Who Needs a Guinea Visa
Whether you need a visa for Guinea depends on your nationality and the purpose and length of your visit.
Important
Guinea's visa requirement is nationality-based. Citizens of ECOWAS member states benefit from free movement and can enter without a visa, and a limited number of other countries are exempt under bilateral arrangements. Most other nationals must obtain a visa, normally the online e-Visa, before travelling.
The right visa also depends on purpose and length of stay: short visits use the tourist, business or transit categories, while stays over three months require a long-stay visa (VLS) for work, study or family, followed by a residence permit.
Key eligibility points
- ECOWAS nationals: visa-free short stays
- Other exempt nationalities: check the current official list
- All others: apply for the appropriate e-Visa before travel
- Stays over 3 months: long-stay visa (VLS) plus residence permit
