Requirements

  • Copy of the property purchase contract and property licence (real-estate route)
  • Utility bills where applicable
  • Proof the qualifying amount was deposited via a bank licensed by the Central Bank of Egypt through a foreign transfer, or proof it entered through a customs port
  • An undertaking not to sell the property before the set holding period (reported as five years)
  • Property must be a unit offered by the government or a state-owned developer (real-estate route)

How to apply

  • Complete the qualifying investment (property, project or deposit) meeting the Cabinet-set threshold
  • Transfer the funds from abroad per Central Bank of Egypt rules and register them at customs on entry
  • Apply to GAFI's unit for granting Egyptian citizenship in exchange for investment with the supporting documents
