Important

This information is for general guidance only. Meeting the requirements does not guarantee your application will be approved.

SkillSelect is the Australian Government's online system for people who want to express their interest in a skilled visa. Rather than applying directly, you submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) detailing your occupation, work experience, qualifications and other background.

SkillSelect gives you an indicative points score based on your EOI, and states and territories and employers can also view EOIs. You can only lodge certain skilled visas after receiving an invitation, which is issued in periodic invitation rounds or through state/territory nomination.

Once invited, you must lodge a complete visa application within the invitation period and provide evidence supporting the claims you made in your EOI.
