Who it is for

  • Remote workers employed by or contracting with businesses outside Albania
  • Self-employed foreigners establishing or running a business in Albania
  • Investors and, under separate provisions, retirees and au pairs

Requirements

  • Evidence of remote employment, business activity or investment as applicable
  • Valid passport and, where required, a Type D visa
  • Proof of sufficient income and accommodation

How to apply

  • Obtain a Type D visa where required by nationality
  • Apply for the relevant residence permit through the e-Albania portal
  • Provide supporting documentation to the Border and Migration Authority
